Steven C. Huret


Steve HuretSteve Huret is a Kingsport native and returned to his hometown to practice law in 2003. His practice areas include insurance defense, personal injury litigation for both injured parties and defendants, commercial litigation, bankruptcy (creditors rights only), civil rights, governmental tort liability, and landlord-tenant law for both commecial and residential clients. He regularly appears in various courts around Eastern Tennessee to litigate a variety of cases. He is a member of the roster of neutrals of the American Arbitration Association for the arbitration of expedited commercial and customer account claims.

He has presented to landlords and property owners on Tennessee’s Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act as well as various financial institutions on the effects of bankruptcy on special assets collection.

Mr. Huret enjoys giving back to his community through his involvement in various civic and charitable organizations. He is married to the former Christy McInturff, who is also an attorney. They have one child and reside in Johnson City, Tennessee.


  • Obtained defense verdict after two day trial of multiple car wreck personal injury suit
  • Negotiated favorable settlement on behalf of executor/primary beneficiary in defense of action to set aside Last Will and Testament
  • Negotiated settlements on behalf of auto insurance carrier and its insureds in multitude of liability and uninsured motorist lawsuits
  • Obtained multiple judgments on behalf of various commercial and residential landlords
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of financial institution in federal lawsuit alleging violations of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act
