Dorman Stout has practiced Law since 1959, and until recent years practiced in all areas of the law and tried cases in all courts. Stout now tries to limit his practice to matters involving commercial real estate acquisition, development, financing and marketing. This includes representing several financial institutions both in real estate and other vehicles and types of development financing. Since he spent over 35 years closing thousands of residential real estate transactions, representing lenders, sellers and buyers, he still becomes involved in advising clients and Wilson Worley attorneys in the residential real estate area of the firm’s practice.
Stout is widely recognized as one of the leading practitioners of real estate law in Northeast Tennessee. He is regularly called upon by other lawyers for advice and counsel with real estate law issues. He is recognized throughout this area as a lawyer’s lawyer in his primary area of practice. Mr. Stout is AV-rated in Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded by this most widely used directory of lawyers.
Stout has served on boards of numerous community service organizations. For several years, he has been primarily involved in all aspects of the parish life of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He has served several terms on the vestry and been Senior Warden for three separate terms.
